Trost 3rd at Bristol Mountain Road RaceMAY 15 2012
![]() Bristol gets a bad rap for catching terrible weather conditions and of course the multiple times everyone has to go up Egypt Hill. But that didn't discourage Adam from going and putting in a monster effort. He was actually rewarded with great weather for the event. In the early stages of the race one rider went off the front solo. A few bridged up to the move but would later drop off and return to the pack. The group left the rider off the front assuming he would be brought back during the lengthy race. He rode solo to the win. Meanwhile in the main field a crash had held up a portion of the racers shortly after the solo break. Adam was ahead of it and continued on. As the race progressed the group thinned and Adam settled in. On the last lap climbing up Egypt Hill the fireworks began as a rider from the Corning team took a dig early on the climb and Adam followed. The group splintered and Adam found himself in a select group of 3 riders with 1 just ahead up the road who would be caught in the early part of the descent to the finish. As the 4 charged to the line down a descent reaching speeds of 58mph, they entered the sprint. Adam came from 4th int he group to land a 3rd place finish, getting 2nd in the sprint!
